How the pension is calculated
The pension amount is a monthly average-earnings base multiplied by a percentage that depends on years of service. This page covers both parts, and what this calculator cannot work out for you.
The pension amount is one product: a monthly average-earnings base, multiplied by a percentage that depends on how many years of service you have.
The earnings base — and what does not count toward it
The average-earnings base is the monthly average of pension-contribution-base earnings you actually received from 1 January 1988 to the date the pension is awarded, formed under whichever rules were in force each year. That start date is FIXED — it does not move depending on when you retire. If you worked before it, those years still count toward the retirement age and the service period (the eligibility side) — they simply do not enter the earnings average itself.
The service-year percentage
The percentage applied to the earnings base is set by your years of service: the table starts at 43% for 15 years and reaches 100% at 50 years. It is not a straight line — the pace of the increase changes across the table.

The table does not continue below 15 years: instead, the lowest row's percentage is cut by 2 percentage points for every year short of it. This rule reaches the proportional-recognition pension routes, which this page does not cover separately.
Working past the age table raises the pension
Keep working past your retirement age without claiming, and your eventual pension rises by 0,5% for every started 30 calendar days. This applies automatically — nothing needs to be separately elected. Because of it, the pension can exceed the earnings base that otherwise bounds it.
The minimum pension
The minimum full old-age pension is 28 500 Ft a month, under Tny.'s own implementing decree (Government Decree 168/1997, § 11) — Tny. itself states no figure here, only a cross-reference to separate legislation.
What this page cannot calculate
This site does not offer a pension-amount calculator. The earnings base is the average of your actual past earnings, formed under rules that differ year to year — no reader can state that from memory, and a calculator built on a guessed figure would hand it straight back, formatted as a pension amount. On top of that, past years' earnings are brought to present value by a valorisation multiplier the law refers to but does not itself publish — this payload does not carry that table.
